When to Tie the Knot?!?

So, you're engaged? Congrats! Now the fun begins.  One of the first things you must decide is when to have your wedding! Here are some things to consider before marking your BIG DAY on the calendar:

  • Planning Time:  How much time will you need to prepare your dream wedding?
  • Family and Friends' Commitments:  Watch out for possible conflicts like birthdays, pregnancy due dates, and graduations so your guests can actually attend!
  • Significant Dates:  You may want to consider a date with sentimental value like the day of your first kiss or your first date.
  • Site and Vendor Availability:  If you have a specific florist or venue already picked out, you may have to work around their schedule in order to use their services.
  • Budget:  Certain times of the year are generally more expensive than others (the three big ones are June, August, and September).  Depending on how cost-conscious you need to be, this may be a factor to consider.
  • Wedding Style:  Certain kinds of weddings are better suited to specific times or seasons.  For example, formal attire might not be the best idea if you are having a wedding outside when it's 100 degrees.  You want your style to reflect the whole atmosphere.

There will be pros and cons to virtually every date you come up with; so decide on a date that works best.  Establish your priorities and choose your wedding date accordingly!
