Looking for the Right Words for my Invitations

Q: Hi,

I am working on my wedding invitations and am looking for the right wording to use.  My parents are divorced, but I would really like to have both of their names listed on the invitations as well as my fiance's parents.  Do you have any suggestions for the how I should word it?  My wedding style is fairly formal.  Thank you, Lisa

A: Hi Lisa~

Sure!  There is a very helpful website you can check out, www.verseit.com.  This website is great when you are looking for creative phrases or having trouble with the proper way to word your invitations.  VerseIt has suggestions for formal wedding invitations, save-the-dates, addressing and much more.  -www.weddingonthebraincom.com- ~Kari Brooner

Wedding Invitation-No CHILDREN Please!

-Q-

Hi Carrie,

I know that on the invitation, I cannot just say "no children". Is there a way of saying "nicely" that we prefer to not have any young children?

thanks, Tommy

-A-

There really is no nice way to say "no children" and it is definitely not proper etiquette to say anything of this nature directly on the invitation. First I would spread the word around that your wedding is an adult affair. Secondly and most importantly is the invitations you send to those invited. Print the names of each person invited on the inner envelopes. The recipient should know the names of those printed on the inner envelope are the ones who are invited. If the children's' names are not present then this should be clear they are not invited.
